Shirley Riga’s life changed dramatically in 1981 when her youngest daughter was born with two liver diseases. For her own sanity, Shirley searched for tools she could use to help herself and her family, and she found Dr. Susan Jeffers’ book Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway. As a trained practitioner in Psychosynthesis Counseling, a licensed trainer of Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway, and drawing on her life experiences, Shirley wrote Tools for the Exceptional Parent of a Chronically-Ill Child (Strong Voices Publishing, 2016). She is effective in helping people who are at a crossroads in their lives or at a standstill, because fear is always the operating factor. She has a special interest in supporting caregivers, people experiencing bereavement, and the LGBTQIA community

Shirley Riga is on a mission to help others because so many people helped her in her difficult and painful times. She wants to help you move forward in your life and share with you dynamic techniques for turning fear into personal power and action. Fear holds us back without our realizing it. We can hold it either in power or in pain. In this full day workshop, you will gently come face to face with their fears and find ways to make your life work despite your fears. This is a presentation for the Massachusetts Court Reporting Association Convention. As a former court reporter (for 25 years), I know the fear reporters face each time they walk into an unknown situation and must perform flawlessly. With so many things out of one's control, it can be terrifying to face such a demanding job. Susan Jeffers' book, Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway, offers techniques for dealing with fear and going out and accomplishing our goals and dreams. The book has helped millions of people. I'll show you how it can help you.
